Villarreal coach Marcelino happy for Traore after victory at Girona

Villarreal coach Marcelino was left delighted after their 1-0 win at Girona.

Bertrand Traore struck for Villarreal's 1-0 win in Cataluyna.

Marcelino enthused: "It is to be happy, only Madrid had won here. And draws between Real and Athletic. In 10 games they have scored more than three goals. We have defended the area well. We have started well creating chances, but from the 20th minute onwards they have dominated. They have done more to win, but sometimes by defending well you can win.

"It is very difficult (qualifying for Eurpe) but I am left with the fact that the team has won here, in San Sebastin, in Seville against Betis, in Barcelona...the second round is extraordinary and with European numbers. The team puts everything on the field and it is 'that's a team'."

On Traore, he added: "He came in January, at the end of the market. He has been adapting, with some discomfort that has prevented him from having continuity. He came from competing little and we are very satisfied, this goal will make him have confidence."
